We believe that we are not called to be another church in our community, but that we are called to be a church that is a part of our community.
Everything that we do revolves around building the body of Christ so that everyone can make a difference in every one life that we encounter. Therefore, everything that we do is centered around bringing to life the message of Jesus Christ through practical programs and activities that serve to uplift people that come through our doors and outside in our community.
Dear Church at the Bridge Family,
In January 2014, we launched Church at the Bridge at our home with twelve people. Within three weeks we outgrew that space and began meeting at a local hotel and conference center in Newburgh. In August 2014, we moved into our current location at 90 Broadway. Today more than 200 people call Church at the Bridge their home. Look at what God has done!
Every step of the way we have been obedient in answering His call on our lives. This next step is our biggest yet, but we can’t do it alone. The Lord needs us as a community of His people to come together. The City of Newburgh needs us. The PEOPLE of the City of Newburgh need us. This region needs us. Together, we can share and grow our uncommon ministry to reach more people in the City of Newburgh and beyond. God has placed a super-sized vision in our hearts for people that will bring them purpose. Our next step is not about a building. It is not about us. It is about expanding the Kingdom of God and its reach. It’s about snatching lives from destruction and bringing them to an everlasting hope. It’s about changing the landscape of this City by giving people something that they have never seen. Something only God can do through you.
Through this initiative, which will be driven by the heartbeat of your generosity, we will provide a haven of hope that will give us the opportunity to show Jesus’ love and grace to all by providing a facility that makes room for the community at large. We will also offer a safe, nurturing environment where youth can play, study, take GED or ESL classes and take part in our future youth leadership academy that will serve at-risk teens. Together we can and will do this!
“Why?” such a bold next step you ask…
God’s answer is, “Why not?” As Jesus says in Matthew 19:26, “With men it’s impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
We can’t complete this vision in our current building. God has given us a greater vision. Over the last four years, God has not only expanded the size of our ministry, He has continually expanded our hearts for people. There is another building in this city (see photo below) with space and land to better equip us to embrace our community. It is a building with outdoor space for practice fields and play areas, classrooms, community rooms and an outstanding place for us to come together corporately to worship our great Lord and Savior each week.
We can make this God-given vision a reality with your help. While the ultimate goal of raising $2M to bring this vision to reality is more than enough to take your breath away, we know ALL THINGS are possible with our great God, and we are believing that through our partnership He will make a way.
We need your help. We believe God has called us as well as you here at this time, in this city to make a lasting, eternal difference. Prayerfully consider your commitment to partner with us by going beyond your weekly tithing with an additional offering to our “Why Not?” generosity initiative. See if the Lord would put it on your heart to be part of this incredible life-changing experience in the City of Newburgh. We’re not asking you to give, we’re asking you to partner with God and us. We’re not just asking for your investment, but for your participation. This is a community effort with God lighting the way and opening doors every step of our path. Let’s share the life-giving message of hope and transforming lives by joining God in what He has called us to do.
With His Great Love and Blessings,
Pastors Jose & Annette Vasquez
